The Trauma of Oppression & Decolonizing Therapeutic Methods

This presentation examines the intersection between oppression and complex post-traumatic stress disorder. Both the discriminatory and exploitative elements of oppression will be discussed. As so much oppression is often dissociated and embodied; dissociative and somatic elements will also be interwoven into the discussion.

This training will explore ways to assist your clients in honoring theircultural and ancestral history, cultivating liberation, and honoring the nervous system’s need for rest.Participants will learn a therapeutic model that is non-oppressive, decolonizing, anti-capitalist, and non-supremacist.
