Join us online to explore healing from oppression through embodied, decolonizing therapy practices.
In this course, Becky examines how systems such as colonization, colonialism, and capitalism contribute to discrimination and exploitation, particularly impacting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
Participants will learn how oppression often leads to disconnection from the body and how therapy can support healing through embodied, humanizing relationships. Becky also addresses the limitations of traditional Eurocentric therapy models and how they can unintentionally increase shame, isolation, and vulnerability for marginalized communities.
This presentation highlights the importance of anti-oppressive, anti-capitalist approaches to care, recognizing the effects of historical and colonial trauma. Becky introduces the practice of “relentless engagement” and offers guidance on honoring cultural and ancestral history, supporting rest, and decolonizing the body as part of the healing process.
This workshop is via Zoom for mental health professionals only
